Puriton and District WI
About us
We are a busy WI, with members ranging from busy working mums to those who have time now to enjoy being very involved in the community of Puriton.
We support a number of village events and activities, as well as enjoying lively and entertaining meetings.
Of course we have Jam and Jerusalem and we make the best cakes around! However, we are also so much more. We campaign to Save Honey Bees, ensure that there are plenty of midwives, support environmental campaigns and much more.

Katie Newell
President
I have been a member of Puriton and District WI since April 2007. I joined because a dear friend encouraged me to do so, and I haven't looked back since. More recently, I have been voted President of Puriton and District WI.
I have initiated the profile raising event that is our stand at Glastonbury Festival. I felt that it was really important to get our brilliant federation involved in Somerset's most famous event, with the aim of promoting the WI to a new audience.

I am proud to say that I have brought a number of new members to Puriton & District, and I really like the friendships that have evolved between our longstanding members and the new members.

As you can tell, the WI is very important to me!
